If you have had chicken pox yourself then you will have antibodies to the disease which will be transferred to the baby. Exposure to chicken pox during pregnancy causes concern only if you have not had the illness yourself. A blood test will tell you if you are immune. Fifteen minutes need to be spent in close contact with an infected person in order to contract chicken pox.
