Recent research suggests that it is safer to avoid all manufactured products for the first few weeks of life. A newborn's skin takes between 2 - 4 weeks for a natural barrier to mature. After this interval gradually introduce manufactured products and this will reduce the chances of the baby becoming sensitised.
