Our Philosophy

Mum and Bump are a unique collaboration of two highly experienced midwives and a specialist obstetric consultant. We have joined forces to bring the very best in independent maternity care for women living in and around Wimbledon and Surrey.

We believe passionately in providing care that is right for you, and with your individual needs in mind, we will work hard to promote a memorable and positive childbirth experience for you and your family.

Evidence supports our theory, that by having the carer of your choice, (and getting to know him or her throughout your pregnancy, labour and postnatal period), will significantly increase your chance of achieving the birth experience you want. Successful breastfeeding, adjustment to motherhood, and reduction of the risk of postnatal depression are further benefits of this close relationship.

Mum and Bump work with a small caseload of clients at any one time. This ensures our dedication to you, and we can see you at mutually convenient times-either in your own home or in one of our beautiful clinics. Our friendly, open approach will help build upon a relationship that makes you feel comfortable and confident with your care-providers.

We want to help you make sound and safe decisions about your care, and thus will provide all the evidence-based information you need to make those appropriate choices. We recognise that your individualised plan for pregnancy and birth is unique, including whether to give birth at home or in hospital. Together, we will work with you to reach the right decision and will review your plan whenever the need arises.

Mum and Bump provides 24hr access to a midwife and/or a doctor, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, and continuity of care that is invaluable. You will have a team member you know and trust with you in labour and postnatal care and support for 2-4 weeks after your baby arrives.

Working this closely with families gives us job satisfaction which is second to none. We believe we are amongst the most privileged people on earth to be able to share with you this special time in your lives.
