Postnatal Care

Kim and Denise can offer you care from two to four weeks postnatal depending on your needs and wishes.

We will offer both of you support and advice to assist your transition to parenthood.

In the first days after birth we believe daily visits are vital to help establish feeding, and help you adapt to your new roles. Later, visits can be more spaced according to what you believe is right for you and your family.

We believe postnatal care to be every bit as important as your antenatal and delivery care, as it is a time of emotion and change. We are confident we can support your adjustment and help you regain your pre-pregnant state.

At this time we will be observing and examining you and baby to ensure normal progress is made. We will part at a mutually agreed time (within our offered timescales) when you feel confident to go it alone.

Kim is also qualified (in the same way as a doctor) to complete the newborn examination 6-72 hours after birth- this is an optional extra, or you can arrange this via your G.P.

For consultant-led clients Mr Shehata will see you 4-8 weeks after birth.
